MG4 Electric เปิดตัวครั้งแรกในประเทศจีน เมื่อต้นปีที่ผ่านมา โดยใช้ชื่อรุ่นสำหรับรถที่จำหน่ายในประเทศจีนว่า MG Mulan หลังจากนั้นจึงมีการเปิดตัวในสหราชอาณาจักร เมื่อวันที่ 13 กันยายน 2565 เวลา 16.00 น. ด้วยแบตเตอรี่ขนาด 51kWh ในรุ่นเริ่มต้นที่ทำระยะทางสูงสุด 350 กิโลเมตร ตามด้วยรุ่นสูงสุดที่วิ่งได้ไกลกว่าด้วยแบตเตอรี่ขนาด 64kWh ชาร์จเต็มวิ่งไกล 450 กิโลเมตร
รุ่น Trophy Long Range มาพร้อมมุมมองจากกล้องจอดรถ 360° ระบบนำทางด้วยดาวเทียม เบาะนั่งด้านหน้าแบบปรับความร้อน พวงมาลัยแบบอุ่นร้อนที่เหมาะกับสภาพอากาศในยุโรป และระบบเชื่อมต่อ Bluetooth รองรับการใช้งานโทรศัพท์มือถือ นับเป็น MG ไฟฟ้ารุ่นแรก ที่สร้างขึ้นบนแพลตฟอร์ม Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) แพลตฟอร์มใหม่ของผู้ผลิตรถยนต์จากจีน ซึ่งคาดว่าจะกลายเป็นรากฐานสำคัญของยานยนต์ไฟฟ้า MG รุ่นต่อไป
